Different chimneys need different protection. A suitable cowl can help address bird or rain entry, while keeping the needs of the appliance and flue in mind.
Patrick’s existing service includes the supply and fitting of chimney cowls and bird guards. Choosing the right product starts with the chimney’s use, its condition, the fuel being burned and the problem you want to solve.
A cowl is not a universal solution for poor draught or smoke entering a room. Those symptoms may need inspection before a fitting is recommended. Existing nesting material must also be assessed rather than simply covered over.
Tell Patrick whether the chimney is in use and describe any existing cowl, access concerns or signs of water entry. He will discuss suitability and the practicalities of fitting before agreeing the work.
