A well-maintained chimney starts with a thorough sweep. Soot and deposits build up with use; regular care helps keep the flue clear and gives you an opportunity to discuss any changes in how your fire or stove is working.
Patrick’s existing service describes sealing the fireplace or stove opening before sweeping to help contain soot and debris. Deposits are removed from the flue and taken away, with care for your living space throughout the visit.
Sweeping and inspection work together. A visual check can bring attention to the fireplace, accessible flue connections, ventilation and signs that a closer investigation may be needed. A sweep alone cannot establish the condition of every part hidden inside a chimney.
Tell Patrick whether you have an open fire or a stove, when the chimney was last swept, and whether you have noticed smoke, unusual smells or a change in the draught. He can advise on the appropriate service and discuss any inspection documentation before the appointment.
